Quote of the Day!

I believe there is a quote for anything and everything. Whether it's how you feel or what you're going through, a quote is a great way to express yourself when you don't have the words to speak.
The quote above means so much to me and hopefully to others that read this too. Some of you know me, I am 4'11 with what I'd call a gymnast built. Growing up I was not comfortable in my body. Somedays I'd even say I hated how I looked. Ever since middle school I've been built strong. I started with gymnastics and then went into year around swimming. I have always had muscular thighs and shoulders, toned arms and a shorter stature. I was constantly made fun of for being "manly" or "so short." I'd hear, "she's so short she can't do it." I got to the point where I had enough. I wanted to prove the haters wrong. The gymnast Shawn Johnson (2008 Olympic Gold Medalist) really helped me look at myself differently. I started loving my body. I changed my thinking to, God made me this way for a reason. I am not a mistake! I will use the body I have to glorify Him in all that I do whether I am in or out of the sports arena. Even though I am little, I am FIERCE!

  1. I agree with you! I love getting a daily quote and seeing how it can apply to me. That's great that you are confident with your body! I think this is a great message to everyone to love themselves and it stresses that you should be happy with your body and you should not worry about anyone else! You are fierce!!

  2. Kylie! I love this post! It is so true on so many levels. First off I love daily quotes as well, they can really set you in a good mood for the day, especially when they are scripture verses! I think this would be a great post for any middle school girl to read, because I think all girls in middle school struggle with their body image, and need to know God made them perfect just the way they were! I also struggled a lot in middle school because I was made fun of for kind of the opposite reason that you were, for being too tall and too skinny. I really think your post could hit home for a lot of girls in middle school and even high school and college! Keep being the fierce, strong, beautiful woman you are! Thanks for being such an inspiring friend!!

  3. First off... Kylie you are beautiful! My petite, adorable, sweet friend. I wouldn't want you any other way. I am really glad that you shared this in your post, because body imaging is crucial at any age. It's important for people to know that their thoughts and comments are hurtful, but it is also important to know that we were made "us" for a reason. I am glad that you turned a potential negative situation into a positive situation! I am proud of you and I love your quote. Never change!
